1.- PRESENTATION.
It consists of an circular marked itinerary, of 5h. of duration, with origin and end in La Pobla de Lillet.
The chain of the CATLLARĮS is situated south of La Pobla de Lillet, and constitutes the most symbolic mountainous zone of this municipality. With about 1700 mts. of maximum altitude, clearly pertains to the pre-Pyrenee range. Its human and physical landscapes, and above all vegetation, without forgetting its fauna and its history, make it a precious objective for the hikers, as many of them already have verified.
As shown in the following maps and schemas, the itinerary follows first the short lenght path named PRC-52, with with white and yellow marks, and later the long lenght path named GR4, with with white and red marks (see detail of the marking code in section 2). The most important points by where passes the PRC-52 are the Monastery of Santa Maria of Lillet, Church of Sant Miquel, Creu of the Castell de la Vila, Xalet of the Catllarąs, Sight point of the Rock of the Lluna, Joc de Pilota, Rock of the Moreneta, Prat Gespador and Roc of the Catllarąs. The most important points of the GR4 section are Camp de l' Ermitą and Falgars.
In the section 6 this itinerary is described. Also exists a published guide of it with the name of PRC-52 POBLA DE LILLET CATLLARĄS. The guide is published in Catalan language, but the description of the itinerary also is in english.

MARKING OF THE PATHS.
3.- ACCESS TO LA
POBLA DE LILLET
The approximation by road to La Pobla of Lillet from Berga, the capital of region, is done along the road C-16 or Axis of the Llobregat (see map down). In Guardiola de Berguedą leave this road, that continues toward Bagą and the tunnel of the Cadķ, and take to the right the road B-402, following the indicators.
If proceeding more south (regions of Barcelona and Tarragona) it is required to go also by the same road, that is the C-16 or Axis of the Llobregat. From the north (Cerdanya, Conflent, Aričge, Andorra, Alt Urgell) the best is to cross the tunnel of the Cadķ and in Guardiola turn to the left. The approaching is more tedious if proceeding of the east (regions of Girona). It is required to go Ripoll and Campdevąnol and then take patience in the precarious road GI-402 that, passing Gombrčn and the Merolla pass, brings to La Pobla. In these moments (2005) it is in project the improvement of it mentioned road.
In case of suficient time, there are several possibilities of approximation by mountain roads, from any direction, enjoying magnificent landscapes. Some examples are: From Borredą and Sant Jaume of Frontanyą; from Montgrony and Castellar de n' Hug; from the Tosses pass, Plans d' Anyella, Creueta pass and Castellar de n' Hug; from the zone of the Pedraforca by Saldes and Maēaners or by The Pleta de la Vila, Pradell pass and Vallcebre; from Sant Julią de Cerdanyola and Falgars. All these roads are paved and therefore they are apt for all kinds of vehicles. In winter, nevertheless, they can present difficulties by snow or ice.
In case of utilizing public transportation, is precise to know that the zone is served by the buses Alsina Graells, from Barcelona, Manresa and Berga, and also from the Cerdanya, with connection in Guardiola or Berga. The buses MIR link La Pobla and Ripoll, with connection with the trains of RENFE in this locality.
In Berga, La Pobla and Guardiola also there is service of taxi.

La Pobla de Lillet. Chapel of Sant Antoni,
situated in the highest part of the quarter of Les Coromines. Toward the left begins the PRC-52. Toward the right, the direct access path
to the Xalet of the Catllarąs, marked with two yellow lines by the Servei
Colņnies de Vacances. We take,
therefore, the PR toward the left, which follows the old path camķ ral of
Sant Jaume of Frontanyą. |

Fountain of El Plą. Behind us (west) appear the Cadķ and the Pedraforca. To our left (north), the Puigllanēada. In the next fork continue straight, since the way of the right goes directly to the Castell de la Vila without passing by the monastery of Santa Maria and the church of Sant Miquel. |

Church of Sant Miquel. Dates from the century XII. One of the few items of Romanesque style with circular plant. Of great value. We continue ascending the path in south-southwestern direction. We enter forest of pine and boxwood, which will accompany us during good part of the path. |

Xalet of the Catllarąs. It is a work of Gaudķ architect in the middle of the mountains. It had served for lodging of the executive personnel of the mines of coal of this zone. At present is used as house of colonies of the Servei Colņnies de Vacances. A little further on and to the right of the way there is a fountain. Soon the path undertakes hard ascent. |

If to continue the GR toward the left we would go to Sant Romą of the Clusa, Castell of l' Areny, Sant Sadurnķ of Rotgers and Borredą. In this description we will summarize the itinerary in the other sense, that is to say, toward Falgars and Populates It of Lillet, to complete thus the itinerary to circulate. We take, therefore, the GR4 toward the right, which leaves the trail and begins a download fort. |

Holy Maria of Falgars. The oldest data are mended al year 984. The present building was reconstruķdo the year 1646, has a Romanesque door originating in the old church. Beverages, restaurant and lodging can be found. We go back some mts. and we continue in direction this by the GR, which continues without difficulty the historic road of it Populates to Falgars or Road dels Graus. Many thousands of people passed through this road before we. |
