Para poder disfrutar de un agradable día en la Illa de Ons deberemos
acercarnos al puerto de Sanxenxo o al de Portonovo, desde donde salen barcos en
distintos horarios desde las diez de la mañana. Una vez hallamos embarcado y ya
en travesía hacia las islas empezaremos a disfrutar de la magnífica costa de la Ría de Pontevedra, con
maravillosas vistas que sólo es posible divisar desde el mar. Conforme nos
vamos acercando a la costa este de la isla nos encontraremos con la Playa de Dornas y Melide a
la derecha del muelle y la Playa de Area dos Cans y la de Canexol a la izquierda. Una vez desembarcado podemos
optar por pasar el día en una de estas playas o por hacer un recorrido por la
isla, disfrutando de un entorno natural y unas maravillosas vistas. Si
hacemos un recorrido por la costa nos encontraremos, en primer lugar con la Playa de Area dos Cans,
donde se encuentra la sepultura medieval "Laxe do Crego", a la que se
puede acceder cuando está la marea baja. Después la Playa de Canexol, y encima
de la playa la antigua rectoral y escuela con dos hermosos hórreos que destacan
por su gran tamaño. Muy cerca existe un Castro con
numerosas cuevas.
